Sisal Estates

Ubena Estate: Ubena Sisal Estate is located a mere 20km from Chalinze, in the Coastal Region. The estate covers a total of approximately 4,000 hectares, with over half already developed with sisal plantations. Ubena Estate also has a large-scale spinning and weaving plant to which we produce high quality ropes, twines, bung cloth and carpets. Our fibre is also held in high regard and we continuously supply regions in the Middle East, Central Africa and South Africa.

Pangawe Estate: Just a short 10 minute drive from the town of Morogoro, and right on the Dar es Salaam Mbeya highway, Pangawe Estate is on a prime location to accommodate the future growth of Morogoro. With an area of just under 4,000 hectares, the estate compliments our Ubena Estate in it sisal operations.

Fibre is the main output of production at Pangawe Estate, however other projects include 30,000 sq metres of warehousing facilities currently all utilized for tobacco storage by Alliance One.
